History

The BLÜCHER story begins with the story of a hardworking entrepreneur.

The founder Johannes Blücher Skibild has always been known as a man with vision and both his feet solidly on the ground.

Johannes Blücher Skibild was a plumber, and in 1965 he saw a need for exclusive floor drain gratings.

Together with his wife Gerda he began producing gratings out of their barn. Soon floor drains were included and the foundation of the BLÜCHER product range made.

As early as in 1972 BLÜCHER introduced a bestseller - the removable water trap setting an entirely new standard in floor drainage.

In 1978 the first BLÜCHER subsidiary was established in England, soon to be followed by subsidiaries in Norway, Germany, France and in 1992 Sweden.

As BLÜCHER today challenges yesterday with new drainage designs and drainage solutions working way into the future, we stay true to the basics of good craftsmanship and quality, a down-to-earth spirit and to the ease of doing business with us.
