Case: First Public Children Hospital in Hong Kong

Back in August 2013 started the construction of the new Hong Kong Children’s Hospital (HKCH) at the Kai Tak Development Area and expected to be completed during 2017 and ready for use in 2018. The site area is about 21,700m2 with a 285 m long frontage abutting the future waterfront promenade.


HKCH is going to be the first children hospital in Hong Kong’s public healthcare system mainly focusing on rare paediatric cases, which required multi-disciplinary management.

HKCH consists of two separate towers of 11 stories high above a basement structure, with a capacity of total 468 beds for in-patient, day-patient services, as well as research and training facilities.
