New perspective for light-duty drains
In March 2008 BLÜCHER is launching an upgrading of the well-known BLÜCHER® Drain Domestic range.
This means that the BLÜCHER® drains now offer even more advantages – more elegant, easier and even safer installation.
Among the benefits of the new range are the most efficient water trap in the market and the most elegant drain frame.

Strong screw lock
Do you remove the drain grating often? With BLÜCHER’s new starlock system you get a lasting solution, no matter how often you take up the grating. The screw lock has been reinforced, fixing the screw even more securely, and a new steel washer locks the screw, retaining it in the screw hole.
Elegant frame
You get the most elegant finished result with BLÜCHER’s new frame. Only 3 mm wide, the frame becomes almost invisible, allowing the grating design to stand out.
As the frame does not ad to the size of the drain, it fits perfectly into 150x150 tiles without any cutting of the tiles, and it is easy to incorporate into tiles of other sizes.
Anchor tangs on all drains
All lower parts now have anchor tangs for fixing the drain to wooden or concrete floors.
The anchor tangs can also be used for fixing the height of drains with adjustable height.
Adjustable legs and mounting plates are also new accessories.
Unique water trap
Two years’ intensive research and testing have resulted in an entirely new water trap. Based on test result from the Danish “Teknologisk Institut”, the water trap has been designed to achieve a very high self-cleansing ability and an extremely high flow capacity. Important features preventing the water trap gathering hair and dirt.
Easy cleaning
For easy cleaning, the water trap can be separated in two parts.
Slanting handle
The water trap has a functional slanting handle that does not collect dirt or hair.
Extremely high flow capacity
The new water trap has the highest flow capacity in the market – up to 1,7 l/s in drains with Ø110 mm outlet, which is way above the new EU requirements of EN1253 of 1,4 l/s in drains with Ø110 mm outlet.

Approvals
The water trap has been tested by the Danish ”Teknologisk Institut” according to EN1253 and has obtained the Danish VA approval.
Practical filter basket
As accessory for the new water trap, a practical filter basket is available. The filter basket collects dirt and is easy to clean. The filter basket is available in acid-resistant stainless steel grade AISI 316L, item no. 502.000.000 S.
Efficient self-cleansing reduces the need for cleaning in leisure centre’s changing facilities
Vildbjerg Sports- og Kulturcenter (DK) has tested the new water trap throughout eight months, installed in the changing facilities of the indoor pool. Lifeguard Pia Sørensen states: It has been an altogether positive experience. The showers in the changing rooms are constantly in use every day, and we used to have to clean the drains once every month. Now once every 6 months is sufficient.”
